PURITY FIRST WINS UK ELECTION, RIOTS IN MANCHESTER, BIRMINGHAM

By a small margin, Purity First win the snap election in the UK, putting so called “centrist” leader Penelope Munn in the position of Prime Minister. Munn's pro-austerity platform is carefully worded to appeal to a larger audience, despite the party's anti-Minority, anti-Parahuman portfolio.

Supposedly “angered by the results”, Parahuman-headed left-wing riots occur in Birmingham and Manchester. Despite being asked by the police not to intervene, Purity First supporters join both riots. Members of The Collective are seen clashing with the police in Birmingham. Across both incidents, over two hundred injuries are reported, and six deaths. Munn uses this opportunity to grant more power to the police to “prevent Parahuman crime”.

An investigation into evidence that the Manchester riot was started, and planned by Purity First politicians, is suddenly dropped.

DER OHLE ARRESTED IN MACEDONIA, HELD BY ETHER, TRANSFERED TO UMBRA

Der Ohle, leader of fascist terrorist group ****, known to be active in Europe, has been successfully captured by ETHER, aided by Deterrent The New Yorker. Der Ohle was supposedly unharmed, and surrendered, but comments reveal that the criminal appeared to be amused by the New Yorker's apparent non-attendance during their arrest. The New Yorker is believed to still be fighting **** stragglers in Macedonia.

In a surprising move, UMBRA agents have demanded that ETHER hand Der Ohle over to them, for trial in America. As a European criminal, wanted in Europe, there seems to be no logical argument for this. At threat of “strain of cooperation”, ETHER has relented and acquiesced to UMBRA's demands.

UMBRA Director Wilder has stated that the decision was “out of my hands.”
ETHER Director Mazur has retorted “We know exactly why this has happened, but diplomacy and efforts at peace between nations dictates that I cannot comment on this.Director Wilder is an ally of mine, and I know this demand does not come from him. I hope that President Keele realizes he cannot bully Europe any further without repercussion.” 

PRESIDENT KEELE CALLS FOR ABOLISHMENT OF US SENATE

In a shocking move, President Keele has presented to Congress an appeal to abolish the power of the Senate. While it is acknowledged as being an illegal move, and undermines the entire foundation of the United States, the high Republican numbers in the Senate appear to be taking the appeal seriously. Deliberation will continue until April.

When pressed for opinions, most of the Deterrents refused to comment, though Tapeworm Jones did declare, via ASL, “This is a travesty. We are one step away from chaos. I pray that those in power are not tempted by more.”

WORLD WAR II HERO KABUKI DIES, AGED 97

Founding Deterrent, peace activist, artist and World War II hero Tanaka Jitsuko, also known as Kabuki, dies of natural causes at the age of 97. The day after her death as declared a national day of mourning, and five days later her funeral was a state affair, with world leaders from around the world invited, as well as roughly two hundred WWII survivors, and so-called superheroes. While President Keele declined the invitation, the Deterrents came in his stead, alongside the Japanese Heroes, Fantastic Peace Team, and Mr Otkid of the Lieber Academy. 

The Lady spoke at the ceremony, declaring “Jitsuko was a friend, an icon, a forerunner. It was her and her country's plight that inspired us to strike against injustice everywhere, but she was standing for those ideas long before then. It was Kabuki that won us the opportunity to destroy The Guide. It was Kabuki that freed the world of a tyranny that might have ended everything we know. She will be missed, but she will not be forgotten.”

A memorial has been erected in her honour.

ETHER REPORTS STRANGE ACTIVITY AT MACLLANLLWYR FACILITY

A spokesperson for ETHER declared that the organization is moving more agents to “observe” activities at the Macllanllwyr Research Facility on the Welsh Island of Anglesey. The Macllanllwyr Facility famously holds the interdimensional portal known as the Yekri-Vra Mirror, and many have begun to speculate that Esther's actions are linked to this strange artifact.

When questioned about the possibility of strange activity, a large party of “invaders”, or even a containment breach or escape, ETHER have refused to further comment, only adding that everything is currently under control, and that an increase in ETHER activity on Angelsey will aid in continuing to do so.

Angelsey's inhabitants have complained of searchlights in the night, gunfire, and airships over head. ETHER have refused to further comment.
