HEROFACE UPDATE: SEPTEMBER

MONTH OF AUGUST FORGOTTEN, ENORMOUS COLLATERAL DAMAGE

The populace of the Earth are finding it nigh impossible to remember the events of August 2019; most clearly remembered memories involve daily routines and general everyday actions. Specific memories seem shrouded in shadows and fog. For some it as if the month never happened. Some memories even seem to be conflicted; people disagree on their shared pasts, disputing such things as childhood memories and names of school friends.
Many Parahumans remain unaccounted for.

So called “supervillains” worldwide have denied responsibility for the so called Crisis that has rendered August non-existent.
The Deterrents have been unable to comment, and GREGOR-1 is once again missing. In its place, the huge form of the Chronotoddler - one of the only beings able to comment on a time-editing event like the so-called Crisis - slumbers, seemingly exhausted.

“Whatever happened,” Lancaster Wilder, head of UMBRA commented, “it sure tuckered the little guy out.”

ORION PETERS KILLED, SECRETS COME TO LIGHT

Technology magnate Sir Orion Peters, son of Hayden Peters, head of the ARTEMIS corporation, has been killed in what has been assumed is an assasination attempt. Evidence coming to light after peters’ death implicate him in the murder of the philanthropists Lord & Lady Winters in 1974, alongside an illegal takeover of his father’s company, as well as many smaller illegal businessa ctions including arms dealings and corporate espionage. Peters was heavily involved in philanthropic charity the Milliners’ Guild, but also personally backed many anti-Parahuman Government schemes.

“It is with a heavy heart that the Milliners’ Guild must move forward, regardless of our members’ pasts,” stated acting secretary Mr. Samuel Ezra, “Many still see our organization as one grounded in Masonic handshakes and clandestine rituals; it is time to move forward, and fill our governing body with the youthful minds and hearts of today’s philanthropists, not yesterday’s. There are many good things in the future of the Guild.”

Peters’ killer is believed to be either the mysterious internet creepypasta murderer known as the Boogeyman, or the eco-terrorist Dryas.

CELEBRITY EDWARD DE’VERE MISSING

Minor celebrity and jet-setting playboy Edward De’Vere, known for his ties to the Lieber Academy, is believed to have been killed in a skirmish with the Collective terrorist known as Bodmin. Staff at his London apartment building reported a break in into his penthouse suite, recognizing the Parahuman terrorist on CCTV footage. The staff were unable to get to the suite in time, and though the recovered footage shows a nasty fight, when the room was accessed, no bodies were found. The CCTV footage shows nothing, turning into static before revealing a confused Bodmin exiting.

No body has been found, in the building or in the Thames below. Bodmin is wanted for sixteen charges of murder.

GEORGE PENDLEBROOK RELEASED FROM PRISON

George Pendlebrook, previously of the Lieber academy, and known infamously as the supervillain Overlord, has finished a 30 year prison sentence, and is to be released into observation. As Overlord, in 1985, Pendlebrook attempted to setup his own private state through mind control and second degree murder. Pendlebrook’s incarceration has been carefully observed by many psychologists, high court judges, and even Professor Lieber himself; it has been accepted that Pendlebrook is ready to assimilate into society.

Pendlebrook, whose partner Blakeney Young was murdered by right-wing protesters in July, is facing obstruction from many right wing and centrist groups who believe he is still a threat to society. It is unclear whether George will now legally inherit his family title of Lord Pendlebrook, and the family land in Kent, currently observed and kept by the crown.

STRANGE OBJECT FOUND IN AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK

A strange sight has been found in the wild flatlands of outback Australia; what appears to be a 300 foot diameter, 30 foot deep, semi-circular crater. The dirt and sand has been transformed into gleaming waves of sharp glass by assumed incredible temperatures. At its heart, a carbon-encrusted object is buried up to its handle.

ORBS, the Oceanic Response Bureau for the Supernatural, Australia’s UMBRA, will erect an observation area around the crater; partially to study the phenomenon, but also protect it from opportunistic scavengers.
